Wrocław International School and International School of Wrocław have similar names, but they are separate organisations with different campuses and qualifications. Confirm the school name and the child’s eventual examination route before comparing prices.
WIS: IB through Grade 10, then a separate school
Wrocław International School, or WIS, is a not-for-profit English-medium school at Racławicka 101. It offers the IB Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes from pre-kindergarten through Grade 10.
The IB Diploma is not taught as Grades 11–12 at WIS. Pupils can apply to International High School of Wrocław, a separate school run by the same Foundation of International Education. Ask whether progression is automatic or assessed, where the Diploma school is located and which subjects are available.
WIS accepts applications during the year when capacity permits. Polish citizens can attend only where they are not subject to the ordinary Polish-school requirement, so families in that position should ask the school to confirm eligibility. Placement may include an assessment, and a year group can operate a waiting list.
IPS: Cambridge qualifications through Grade 12
International School of Wrocław, or IPS, has preschool, primary and lower secondary at Drukarska 52. Upper secondary is at Powstańców Śląskich 15.
The school’s current primary page says it integrates the IB PYP framework with Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary. This wording should not be treated as proof that the school is an authorised IB World School. In Grades 9–10 the published route is Cambridge IGCSE; Grades 11–12 lead to Cambridge A levels. Polish-language and national subjects continue, with routes to the Polish matura depending on the pupil’s goals.
For a transfer pupil, ask which programme and examinations apply in the exact grade. This matters particularly at Grades 8–11, when moving between MYP, IGCSE, A levels and the Polish system can affect subject continuity.
Compare the fee evidence, not just the headline
WIS does not publish its tuition amount on the live payment page. It lists an application fee and three payment plans: annual in September, two instalments in September and February, or ten monthly payments for individual payers. Enrichment, athletics and after-school supervision are included. Trips and residential programmes can cost extra. Request the current fee schedule in writing for both WIS and the separate Diploma school.
IPS publishes monthly 2026–27 tuition. Pre-K is 3,350 PLN for 11 months and Kindergarten is 3,450 PLN for 11 months. Grades 1–5 cost 3,950 PLN for 10 months; Grades 6–8 cost 4,250 PLN; Grades 9–10 cost 4,800 PLN; and Grades 11–12 cost 5,000 PLN. One-time admission or registration charges also apply. Meals, trips, clubs and supplies may be additional.
The IPS fee page has a malformed label beside one registration amount. Treat 2,990 PLN as the stated one-time registration charge, not as another monthly tuition line, and confirm the invoice with Admissions.
Location and application sequence
Racławicka, Drukarska and Powstańców Śląskich create three distinct journeys. Check the correct building for each sibling and include the later campus change. Neither school offers boarding.
- Send recent reports and ask for the proposed grade and curriculum route.
- Confirm eligibility, English support and learning-support capacity.
- Request a written total for tuition, registration, meals, transport and trips.
- Ask what happens at Grade 10 or Grade 12 and which qualification is awarded.
- Visit the actual campus and test the daily route from the intended home.
The Poland country guide explains the national curriculum and matura. The curriculum guide helps compare MYP, IGCSE, A levels and the IB Diploma.
