II Liceum Ogólnokształcące z Oddziałami Dwujęzycznymi im. Stefana Batorego is a public day school at ul. Myśliwiecka 6, 00-459 Warszawa. The secretariat lists office hours of Monday–Friday, 10:00–14:00 and contact details for admissions and IB enquiries.
Batory is a four-year liceum, an upper-secondary school entered after primary education. It does not offer boarding or education for younger children. Its public-school admissions process differs from the private international-school route.
The school describes a history of more than 100 years. That history is background, not evidence of the best fit for an individual applicant.
Programme and fit
Consider Batory if your child is ready for Polish public-school admissions and either the Polish matura, the national school-leaving qualification, or its bilingual pre-IB route. Standard recruitment uses primary-school marks and the grade-eight examination; bilingual applicants also take a language-competence test.
The two pre-IB classes follow the Polish national core during years 1–2, with specified modifications concerning Polish language, history and geography. They prepare pupils for possible entry to the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in years 3–4.
Progression is not automatic. Pupils must meet the school’s IB recruitment rules, published in its BIP public-information bulletin. Those who do not qualify may apply to a Polish-curriculum third year. Confirm the available route before treating pre-IB admission as an IB place.
Compare The British School Warsaw or American School of Warsaw if you need an international programme covering younger ages. Their admissions arrangements should be checked separately.
Location and travel
The school is near rondo Siedlaczka, at the junction of Myśliwiecka and Rozbrat. The accessibility page names bus stops ROZBRAT. Test the walk from the stop at the expected school arrival time. The reviewed pages do not establish a dedicated school-bus service.
First-year admissions
The school’s calendar gives these dates for first-year entry in 2026–27. It follows order no. 6 of 29 January 2026 from the regional education authority, Mazowieckie Kuratorium:
- Applications 14–27 May 2026, weekdays 9:00–15:00
- Language competence test 29 May 2026, 14:00–16:00
- Test results 15 June 2026
- Second test sitting 26 June 2026, 13:30, only if you missed the first for reasons beyond you and had applied by 27 May
- Primary świadectwo and exam certificate copies 3–7 July 2026
- Qualified list 17 July 2026, 12:00
- Confirm the place 17, 20 and 21 July 2026
- Admitted list 22 July 2026, 12:00
These dates concern the completed 2026–27 recruitment cycle. Consult the current calendar for the next intake.
Applications go through the electronic system for Warsaw public schools. Applicants use one form for all chosen schools and submit it to their first-choice school. The applications page recommended signing with Trusted Profile, Poland’s electronic identity service, and gave a deadline of 27 May 2026, 16:00.
The rules page cites the Ministry regulation of 3 April 2025 for admissions scoring. Applicants can receive up to 200 points for a general class or 225.65 points for a bilingual class. The bilingual total includes up to 25.65 points for the language test. These are maximum scores, not the score required to gain a place.
Additional IB entry to year 3: completed 2026–27 cycle
The published deadline was 15 June 2026, with applications submitted to the secretariat. Testing took place on 23 June 2026, 9:00–15:00, covering Polish, mathematics, English and the chosen subjects from IB groups 3, 4 and 6.
The stated English expectation was B2+/C1, meaning upper-intermediate to advanced proficiency. The available subject combinations had specific limits:
- No economics in Group 3, the individuals-and-societies group.
- The Group 6 option could be chemistry if not already selected in Group 4, geography if not already selected in Group 3, or German.
- French and Visual Arts were not offered in this round.
These conditions describe that intake, not guaranteed future options. The calendar also placed French and German assessments for admitted pre-IB pupils in the final holiday week.
IB programme costs
Public-school status does not mean that all IB-related or optional costs are covered. The IB costs page lists programme-administration payments to the Parent Council:
| Stage |
Published amount |
| Year 3, first IB year |
3,750 PLN |
| Year 4, second IB year |
1,250 PLN |
The page also lists €552 for six IB examination subjects for 2025–26. That is a historical examination charge, not a confirmed 2026–27 amount. Currency-conversion costs are borne by the payer.
The listed instalment plans relate to examinations in 2026 and 2027. The final instalment shown for the 2027 examination cycle is 30 September 2026. Confirm the applicable schedule and use the school’s current payment instructions rather than copying bank details from this guide.
Our view
Choose Batory if its Polish public-school setting and the intended matura or pre-IB route suit your child. For a pre-IB applicant, the conditions for later IB admission are as important as the first-year offer.
The Warsaw guide and Poland guide provide wider context.
