International School of Gdańsk (ISG) is an umbrella for four units run by the Gdańsk Educational Foundation. These are an international nursery, preschool, elementary school and high school. Each unit has its own age range, programme and charges.
Elementary International School of Gdańsk (EISG) and High International School of Gdańsk (HISG) currently give ul. Biała 1, 80-435 Gdańsk as their address. They are day schools and do not provide boarding.
The foundation has announced that Grade 0, the elementary school and the high school will move to Śluza 3 in 2027. It does not give an exact opening or transfer date. Families applying for 2027 should obtain the teaching address in writing.
Programme
EISG is an IB World School for the Primary Years Programme in Grades 1–5. The school says this is taught alongside the Polish core curriculum.
In Grades 6–8, pupils move to the British National Curriculum delivered with Pearson Edexcel. This is not the IB Middle Years Programme. The route continues at HISG with Pearson Edexcel International GCSEs in Grades 9–10 and International A levels in Grades 11–12.
English is the main classroom language. EISG also provides Polish and Spanish. The school says English fluency is not a universal entry requirement, but the expected level varies by grade.
The on-campus high-school route should not be confused with HISG home education. The latter follows different attendance, programme and fee arrangements. Families considering home education should read the separate contract and examination requirements.
Elementary admissions
EISG accepts applications throughout the school year when a class has space. The first step is a meeting with the principal, either at school or online. The principal decides after considering availability, the child’s needs and the family’s expectations.
The school publishes recurring Grade 1 opening dates:
- 29 January for children leaving the International Preschool of Gdańsk
- 19 February for other applicants
Applications then remain open until places are filled. Factors include the application date, school readiness, age, siblings in the group and previous attendance at a GFO school. Previous English-medium education is also considered.
Children who will be at least seven in the calendar year of Grade 1 receive age priority. This is a priority criterion, not a statement that every younger applicant is automatically excluded.
The school normally emails the decision within two weeks of the meeting. A positive decision is followed by the enrolment documents and the organisational fee, which must be paid within one week.
Families must disclose learning, emotional, medical and dietary needs before the child starts. EISG expressly reserves the right to refuse a place if it believes it cannot provide suitable educational or emotional support. Ask for the proposed support and any additional cost in writing.
High-school admissions
HISG accepts applications throughout the year, but places are limited. EISG Grade 8 pupils are guaranteed a high-school place without an entrance examination.
External applicants have an interview with the director and placement assessments in English and Mathematics. A Cambridge C1 Advanced certificate exempts an applicant from the English assessment. Required records include the primary-school completion certificate and, where relevant, Poland’s Grade 8 examination results.
The first on-campus HISG cohort began in Grade 9 in 2026–27. The published programme describes the intended four-year progression through IGCSE and International A levels. It should not be read as evidence that all four on-campus grades already operate.
Elementary fees
The current EISG page does not label its table with a school year. These are the figures displayed when this profile was checked on 4 September 2026:
| Stage |
Organisational fee |
Annual resources |
Monthly tuition, paid on time |
Monthly tuition without discount |
| Grades 1–5 |
PLN 2,000 |
PLN 550 |
PLN 3,290 |
PLN 3,463 |
| Grades 6–8 |
PLN 2,000 |
PLN 200 |
PLN 3,290 |
PLN 3,463 |
Tuition is billed for ten months. The fee page uses one cell spanning both grade bands, so the same tuition applies to Grades 1–5 and Grades 6–8. The resource charge is the part that differs.
At the on-time rate, the displayed first-year total is PLN 35,450 for Grades 1–5. It is PLN 35,100 for Grades 6–8. These calculations combine ten tuition payments with the listed organisational and resource charges.
The English admissions checklist mentions a non-refundable “application fee”, while its later instructions identify the PLN 2,000 organisational fee. The Polish version refers to the organisational fee. Ask whether these are the same payment before budgeting.
Meals, excursions and some services cost extra. EISG requires one month’s written notice for withdrawal, but the signed contract controls the final liability.
High-school fees
HISG publishes a special price for pupils who joined its first on-campus Grade 9 cohort in 2026–27:
- tuition of PLN 3,290 per month after the on-time discount
- an organisational fee reduced from PLN 2,000 to PLN 1,000
The school says the PLN 3,290 tuition is guaranteed for that cohort’s four-year high-school course. It also says new rates will apply to pupils entering high school in later years. A new applicant should therefore confirm eligibility rather than assume the first-cohort offer continues.
The much lower home-education prices are for a different form of schooling. They are not an alternative tuition column for daily attendance at HISG.
How to compare it
ISG offers a connected English-medium route, but the curriculum changes after Grade 5 and again after Grade 8. Families should decide whether the PYP-to-Pearson sequence suits the child’s likely leaving point.
British International School Gdańsk follows a different programme and operates on different sites. Compare the exact campus, qualification, language support, current class opening and complete cost.
