WRG Ursulinen Innsbruck is a private, co-educational day school at Fürstenweg 86, 6020 Innsbruck/Hötting. The Vereinigung von Ordensschulen Österreichs, an association of religious schools, is the school authority.

The school is a Wirtschaftskundliches Realgymnasium (WRG). This is an Austrian academic secondary route with an economics focus, taught in German and leading to the Austrian Matura school-leaving qualification.

It is separate from International School Innsbruck. That school is a public bilingual stream at Akademisches Gymnasium Innsbruck and offers an optional IB route alongside the compulsory Matura in its final years.

The official website is ursulinen.tsn.at. The school office is available on +43 512 2241667 or at ursulinen.sekretariat@tsn.at.

Who it suits

This is a credible option for families settled in Innsbruck who want a private, church-run Austrian school and are comfortable with German as the language of instruction.

It is less suitable if your child needs an English-medium curriculum, an IB Diploma or boarding. The official pages reviewed for this guide do not identify any boarding provision.

For 2026/27, the school says classes 1–4 and class 7 begin on 14 September 2026. The remaining classes begin on 15 September 2026.

Admissions

Admission creates a private-law contract between the parents and the school authority. Read that contract separately from the general admissions information.

The school has announced an open day for Saturday 28 November 2026.

Applications for the first class in 2027/28 run from Monday 15 to Friday 19 February 2027. The published hours are:

  • Monday to Wednesday, 8:30–10:30
  • Thursday to Friday, 11:00–13:00
  • Monday to Tuesday, 16:30–18:00

The school says the day chosen within that window does not affect ranking. It recommends avoiding the first morning if possible.

Families should name second and third school preferences. Doing so does not weaken the first preference. Siblings may send the documents with an older child already attending the school.

The school expected to send provisional-place emails on 22 February 2027. Applicants need the form and these documents:

  • a copy of the Year 3 annual report
  • the original and a copy of the Year 4 semester report
  • a copy of the birth certificate
  • a copy of proof of citizenship or the passport

For entry to class 5 of the upper school in 2027/28, the application period begins on 15 February 2027 and lasts two weeks.

The Tyrol application window for academic secondary schools, known as AHS, ran from 16 to 27 February 2026 for 2026/27 entry and is closed. This historic regional window is separate from the school’s published 2027/28 dates.

Fees

The enrolment page gives an annual fee of €1,790, payable in ten instalments of €179. However, it labels this figure as current at September 2025, not specifically 2026/27 or 2027/28.

Our view

Before deciding, visit Fürstenweg during the morning journey and compare the curriculum carefully with the public bilingual route at International School Innsbruck.
