Lycée Français International de Málaga (LFIM) is a private French day school at Calle Flamencos 36, 29018 Málaga, from Petite Section, the first preschool year, through Terminale, the final upper-secondary year. It is most relevant to families seeking continuity in the French national curriculum and the French Baccalauréat.

Its AEFE conventionné status means it operates under an agreement with the French agency for education abroad. This is a French administrative category, not the Spanish colegio concertado funding category.

The director’s letter describes continuity into a French public lycée or another AEFE school without an entrance test. That concerns the French educational route, not a guarantee of a place at any chosen school. The published new-pupil information covers children born in 2023 or earlier.

Educational choice and practical location

The route runs through maternelle (preschool), élémentaire (primary), collège (lower secondary, ending with the Diplôme national du brevet) and lycée (upper secondary, ending with the Baccalauréat). The languages listed are French and Spanish; ask how the timetable supports a newcomer to French.

The British School of Málaga, at Calle Centáurea 8, offers a British route instead. Compare curricula and intended qualifications before deciding on the journey: sharing postcode 29018 does not make the educational programmes interchangeable.

LFIM has no boarding advertised. The website footer gives Monday–Friday, 09:00–16:30 as opening hours; confirm the child’s actual class and service timetable separately.

Admissions status needs confirmation

At the research date, 1 September 2026, the inscriptions page contained conflicting messages. Its heading said 2026/27 pre-registration was closed and referred to a form for the next school year available from 24 August 2026. The paragraph below still described 2026/27 as open, with online applications through the Skolengo parent portal. A lower panel also retained a 2024/25 heading.

An application is final only after the first-registration charge has been paid and the lycée has issued definitive written validation. For entry during the school year, contact the school directly through its admissions information.

Tuition for 2026/27

The financial regulations dated 9 January 2026 distinguish EU nationals from non-EU nationals. They also distinguish one annual payment from the higher total paid by instalments.

Annual payment is due before 10 September 2026. The alternative is ten monthly payments from September to June, except Terminale, where tuition must be fully paid before 30 April 2027.

Stage EU: annual payment EU: total by instalments Non-EU: annual payment Non-EU: total by instalments
Maternelle and élémentaire €5,670 €5,850 €6,530 €6,720
Collège €6,090 €6,280 €7,010 €7,220
Seconde, first lycée year €6,860 €7,070 €7,890 €8,130
Première and Terminale, final two years €7,200 €7,420 €8,290 €8,540

The instalment columns are totals, not monthly charges. For example, €5,850 for EU preschool or primary is €585 over ten payments. Confirm Terminale’s shortened payment schedule separately.

Registration and additional costs

The first-registration charge, DPI, is €1,400 for preschool, €1,600 for primary, €1,800 for collège and €2,000 for lycée. Renewal costs €200.

Sibling tuition reductions are 20% for the third child, 40% for the fourth and 60% for the fifth. For DPI, the third child’s charge is reduced by 50%, and the charge is waived from the fourth child.

Meals are outside tuition:

  • €139 monthly from Petite Section through CM2, covering preschool and primary.
  • €166 monthly from sixième through Terminale, covering secondary.

Transport is €144–€200 monthly, depending on route. Examination charges are €30 for the brevet, €80 for Baccalauréat examinations in Première and €180 in Terminale.

The admissions page also retained a 2025/26 regulations link; the figures above come from the explicitly dated 2026/27 document. Ask for a complete quotation using the right nationality, stage, payment method and sibling position.
