Florimont is worth considering if you want to keep a choice between the Swiss cantonal maturité, French Baccalauréat and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma at one Geneva day school. French-language and French/English bilingual provision are central to the offer. The important question is which language route and qualification fit your child, not simply whether the school offers three diplomas.

The co-educational school is at Avenue du Petit-Lancy 37, 1213 Petit-Lancy. It was founded in 1905 by the Missionaries of Saint Francis de Sales and describes itself as rooted in Catholic tradition but open to all faiths. It has no boarding. Reception is at reception@florimont.ch or +41 22 879 00 00.

From kindergarten to a choice of qualifications

Florimont’s stages use its own class numbering, descending towards Terminale, the final year. Do not equate “3e”, for example, with Grade 3 in an international school.

  • Maternelle is a three-year kindergarten stage.
  • Primary develops foundational knowledge and skills, with French/bilingual provision distinguished in the tariff.
  • The Cycle is three years of lower secondary, taught in French or bilingually in French and English, with a common curriculum oriented towards the Plan d’études romand, the French-speaking Swiss curriculum.
  • Secondaire 2 is upper secondary, leading towards the Swiss maturité, French Baccalauréat or IB Diploma.

The 2026/27 parent guide describes the cantonal maturité as a four-year route. Final exams in five main subjects—French, mathematics, German or Italian, English and a specialist option—account for half the subject mark. Options selected in 3e include biology–chemistry, physics and applications of mathematics, economics/law and Spanish.

The guide describes the IB route as bilingual French/English. Ask for the teaching and examination languages for the intended subjects and year. The French Bac, Swiss maturité and IB are distinct qualifications; discuss university-entry requirements for the intended destination before selecting a route.

The Art/Sport stream has separate Cycle fees. The international section, covering Pre-IB and IB, also has its own higher tariffs. A bilingual label alone does not tell you how many lessons a child will take in each language.

Campus and daily fit

The school describes science and robotics laboratories, age-specific sports facilities and an Innovation Hub opened in 2024. Its published milestones include the stadium in 1963, nursery provision in 2013, IB from 2014 and Art/Sport from 2022. It marked its 120th anniversary in 2025.

Its website also displays quality, environmental and professional-association references, including QSC, the Geneva private-schools association AGEP, Eco-Schools and ISO 21001. These should not all be read as the same kind of accreditation or as evidence of academic results.

Visit classrooms for the intended stage and check the journey to Petit-Lancy. If an examination pass rate influences your choice, ask which cohort and qualification it refers to.

Applying

Admissions handles kindergarten, primary, secondary and transfers during the year. Arrange an appointment to discuss year placement, language readiness and the intended diploma route. The reviewed pages do not give a general application deadline; ask for the relevant intake rather than treating the fee cancellation dates as admissions deadlines.

A signed enrolment or re-enrolment is a firm commitment. Before signing, establish the amount of the tuition advance and how a possible change of relocation plans would be charged.

Fees and payments for 2026/27

The French tariff gives all amounts in Swiss francs, including VAT. Tuition and supervised lunch are billed at the start of each of three terms, payable within ten days. Registration and re-enrolment invoices are payable on receipt.

Charge CHF
Registration, all year groups 500
Re-enrolment, all year groups 300
Teaching materials, all year groups 150
Supervised lunch (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, with supervision), year 2,800

Registration or re-enrolment fees and a tuition advance must be paid before the request is processed. The registration/re-enrolment fee is retained whether or not admission is granted. The advance is credited to the first-term tuition invoice: it is not an extra cost on top of annual tuition. Ask Admissions for its amount.

Cancellation and discounts

The French tariff clarifies the cancellation rules after a signed enrolment:

Cancellation date Amount retained or due
Until 31 March Registration fee and tuition advance are not returned
1 April–31 May Registration fee plus half the first term’s tuition
From 1 June Registration fee plus all first-term tuition

The early-cancellation line concerns registration and the advance, not the whole year’s tuition. If a pupil leaves during the school year, tuition and any supervised-lunch charge for the current term remain due in full.

Tuition reductions are 25% for the third child and 50% from the fourth child onwards. Children of former pupils receive 20% off tuition in their first year only. Ask how any applicable reductions are reflected in the offer.

Our view

Compare Ecolint’s Campus des Nations if a sequence of IB programmes from primary onwards is the priority. If boarding is essential, compare Collège du Léman; Florimont is a day school.
