UWC Maastricht, a Limburg IB house with a residential sixth form, not The Hague

A United World College in Limburg, not a Randstad commute. Day fees for 2026–27 sit on the official page. The residential year for 16–19 is a different door and a different bill.

UWC Maastricht is a co-educational day-and-residential school at Discusworp 65, 6225 XP Maastricht. Official site uwcmaastricht.nl. Switchboard +31 43 241 04 10. Admissions: admissions@uwcmaastricht.nl. Postal box 1187, 6201 BD.

It is not the International School of The Hague, not the British School in the Netherlands, and not the UWC at Flekke. Maastricht is Limburg. Time that train before you treat it as a Randstad Tuesday.

The admissions pages’ snapshot: about 300 in Primary, 300 in MYP, 300 in DP; secondary also names over 650 students and 140 staff from more than 100 national identities, and about 200 DP/CP students in residence. Treat those as the school’s own photographs.

The useful questions are: Is this child a day pupil living in the Maastricht border region, or a residential 16–19 applicant through UWC International? And have you read the 2026–27 line, not last year’s?

Who it is for

Families who want an English IB continuum in the south, with a state-adjacent fee that is not a Wassenaar bill, or a 16-year-old who is applying for a UWC residential place.

Day students, the DP/CP page says, live in the Maastricht border-region with their families. The FAQ says UWC Maastricht is not a typical boarding school. The majority live at home. The residential programme is for IB DP or CP, ages 16–19, selected through UWC International and national committees. Scholarships exist on that residential track, the FAQ says, and not for day students. No sibling discount.

It will not suit a family hunting a Hague British campus or a municipal basisschool only. Walk those if that is the climate.

The campus you can actually picture

Discusworp 65, one campus. Residences: three buildings, five mixed-gender floors and four single-gender floors, the residences page says. About 20 students share a common room, study area and small kitchen. Four to a bedroom, different nationalities. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Mensa. A residential mentor lives in the building. Curfew if you leave campus.

Primary is 4–11. MYP 11–16. DP and CP 16–19.

How a child actually gets in

Day: apply to the school. Application fee €810, day students only. Residential: UWC National Committee or UWC Global Selection — see uwc.org. Write admissions. We will not invent a closing date or a waitlist.

The page still prints 2025–26 day lines beside the new ones. Use 2026–27. Bank transfer only — ABN AMRO, no cash, no card.

The 2025–26 day lines were €7,890 / €11,675 / €12,090. We name them so you can see the page has two years. Budget the new one.

What we are not claiming

We are not ranking a UWC against a Hague international. We are not calling the residential year a typical Dutch boarding house. We are not inventing a day scholarship. We are not treating 100 nationalities as a census we counted.

Stairs questions

Ask whether this child is a day commuter from the border region or a residential UWC applicant. Ask what the €43,575 still invoices on top when campus is closed. Confirm the live 2026–27 line.

The Maastricht hub is the short map. The house also sits on the boarding page. The Netherlands country page is the wider one.
