Park Lane, a British–IB day school on several Prague hills, not Nebušice

This is not ISP in Nebušice, not Nord Anglia’s PBIS, and not the English College in Prague 9. It is Park Lane — a British–IB day school on several inner-city hills. The 2026/27 campus PDFs below are the school’s own tables. If a later PDF disagrees, trust the PDF.

Park Lane International School is a co-ed day school on several Prague hills, not one forest campus. The legal line the homepage footer prints for Prague 1 and Prague 6 is Park Lane International School, IČO 284 655 98. Prague 5 prints as Nessie English Preschool, IČO 275 68 628. Data box 72ujxp9. Official site parklane-is.cz.

It is not the International School of Prague in Nebušice. It is not Prague British International School, Nord Anglia’s three-site house. It is not Riverside in Prague 6. It is not the English College — Anglické gymnázium — in Vysočany. If a relocation pack says “the English school in the centre,” ask which invoice name and which hill.

The useful questions are local. Which campus PDF is this child on — Prague 5, Prague 6, or Prague 1? Can they sit an English entrance and, if they are Czech, a Czech paper? And do you understand that lunch, the bus, IGCSE and IB exam fees are not inside tuition?

Principal, as the homepage names him: Paul Ingarfield, from 2012. There is no boarding house and no boarding fee. If the posting has not found a flat, this school will not absorb the child.

Who it is for

Ages the fee PDFs print from Tiny Tots (1–2) through Year 13 (17–18). The about page’s campus labels are tighter: Early Years 2–6 in Prague 5; Early Years and Primary 3–10 in Prague 6; secondary and IB 11–18 in Prague 1. A Parent & Toddler group for children under 2.5 is named for Norbertov from September 2026. Ask which door this age actually uses.

The homepage’s snapshot: 691 students — 400 secondary, 291 primary and EYFS — and 46 nationalities. The about page says 700 students from 52 countries, average class size 15, and “nearly two decades.” Those counts do not all match. Ask for the roll in this child’s year.

English is the classroom language. The about page says the school also wants children to keep a home language. There is a named Czech Programme. Czech students sitting secondary entrance sit a Czech paper. This is not a Czech gymnázium first.

It will not suit a family who only want Nebušice IB from age three, or a selective six-year gymnázium that starts at twelve. Walk those if that is the climate.

Not ISP, not PBIS, not Riverside, not the English College

ISP is one forest-edge campus in Nebušice with all four IB programmes. Park Lane does not print PYP or MYP. The IB arrives as the Diploma in Years 12–13. The IB page is blunt: every Year 12 takes the full Diploma — “no exceptions or alternative academic pathways.”

PBIS is Nord Anglia, on Kamýk, Libuš and Vlastina. Park Lane is its own legal house. The contact page’s working doors are Smíchov, Střešovice and Malá Strana.

Riverside is the independent British international in Prague 6, with IGCSE, IB and a NEASC high-school diploma. Park Lane’s leaving paper, as the school names it, is Cambridge IGCSE then the IB Diploma. The accreditations page does not put NEASC in the badge row.

The English College starts later, sits a Czech gymnázium entrance, and offers the Maturita beside the IB. Park Lane starts in the toddler years. The homepage publishes a note that the IB Diploma is now fully recognised as a Czech maturita equivalent. Confirm what that sentence means for this child’s university file. We will not invent the legal mechanism.

The campus you can actually picture

The contact page prints three offices. The about page says six modern sites in the heart of Prague. The IB page names two further Prague 1 doors. Ask which bell you ring.

The Prague 6 fee PDF runs Nursery through Year Six. The Prague 1 fee PDF runs Year Seven through Year Thirteen. The IB page says Year 12 moves “up the hill from the Klárov branch” to a Diploma centre on Úvoz. We did not find street numbers for those two doors on the contact page. Ask.

Time the tram from the flat you will actually rent. Malá Strana in January is not Střešovice, and neither is Nebušice.

How the years are organised

Think in British years, not in a Czech gymnázium count.

Parent & Toddler — 12–30 months on the Prague 5 PDF; the Norbertov note says under 2.5. Nine morning sessions a trimester, 2,250 CZK, credited if you then register at Nessie.

Tiny Tots and Pre-Nursery — ages 1–3 on the Prague 5 PDF, full day or half day.

Nursery, Reception, Year One — Prague 5 and Prague 6 both print these years. The koruna lines are not the same. Read the campus PDF that matches the door.

Years Two to Six — Prague 6 primary PDF.

Years Seven to Nine — KS3, Prague 1. Secondary entrance: online CEM assessment (Cambridge University Press and Assessment), a written English test, a Czech test for Czech students, and a 45-minute interview with parents.

Years Ten and Eleven — Cambridge IGCSE. The accreditations page places key stage 4 in that programme.

Years Twelve and Thirteen — full IB Diploma. Six subjects, three Higher and three Standard. Internal IB entry, as the Diploma page prints it: IGCSE A*–C in at least seven subjects including English and Maths; Higher Level usually A*–B; Maths HL an A*; Standard Level at least a C; attendance at least 90%. External applicants sit English, maths and aptitude tests and write a motivation letter.

How a child actually gets in

This is a rolling international file with tests, not a spring gymnázium lottery.

Tour or video call with the relevant head and admissions.
Send recent reports. Secondary also wants two years of reports, a head’s recommendation, and — from 15+ — a motivation letter.
Sit the age-appropriate test. Primary: reading, writing, mathematics and spelling, often on a taster day. Secondary: CEM, English, Czech if the child is Czech, then the interview.
Application form, contract, and the 10,000 CZK application fee. The admissions page is blunt: payment does not guarantee a place. UniCredit 1002392102 / 2700, or card at the office.

We did not find a published waitlist rule or a 2026 cutoff date on the procedure page. Call and ask whether this year group has a seat.

Money, as the 2026/2027 campus PDFs print it

Three official PDFs live under parklane-is.cz/admissions/school-fees. Fees are in CZK for a ten-month school year, bank transfer only. Tuition does not include meals, transport, certain trips, IGCSE or IB exam fees, or PE kits. Annual payment by 31 May is the discounted line. Trimester due dates: 31 May, 30 November, 28 February.

A first-year Year Seven is not “about 616,650.” It is 10,000 + 616,650 before lunch, bus, or exam papers. We did not find a 2026/27 deposit, capital levy, or lunch price for Years Twelve and Thirteen on those three PDFs. Ask. Resits and remarks are not inside the exam ranges.

Sibling discount on tuition, as the fees page and the PDFs print it: none for the oldest; 5% for the second (younger); 10% for the third and later. Mid-year joiners are charged for remaining months.

Scholarships, as the school prints them

The scholarship page names pots. It does not print a 2026/27 percentage or a koruna cap. We will not invent one.

IB Diploma scholarships — Year 12, 16–17, internal and external. English, maths, logic, two years of reports, interview, motivation letter. Strong IGCSE or equivalent helps.

KS3 — external Year 7 (ages 10–11), “solely based on their entrance exam results.” Internal academically gifted Year 7s are named too.

KS4 — external IGCSE joiners (13–14) “in exceptional cases.”

Internal IB — Year 11s moving to Year 12, “exceptionally high” IGCSE, matching previous internal awards.

Ask what this sitting actually pays.

Leaving certificates and inspection

Cambridge IGCSE, then the full IB Diploma. The about page’s Class of 2024 block: 55 graduates, 100% pass, average 35.5, 24% at 40 or more. A later sentence on the same page says an average of 36. The IB page’s 2024–25 note says the Class of 2025 was the sixth Diploma cohort, and that more than 220 students had completed the Diploma journey by June 2025. Ask which sitting they want you to read.

The school also publishes a note that the IB Diploma is recognised as a Czech maturita equivalent. If a later Czech faculty will want a particular maturita-shaped document, ask with this child’s subjects.

COBIS accredited member; the school says that meets British Schools Overseas standards. Cambridge International School. IB World School from 1 February 2018. IAPS. CIS member since March 2023. ISC international member. UK Department for Education number 137803-6010. Homepage news names a 2025 BSO inspection. The accreditations page still reprints the March 2018 ISI/BSO story and an “excellent” sentence from that older report. Ask for the live PDF. We will not invent 2025 grades.

What to ask on the stairs

Ask which of the six sites — or the three printed offices — this child would actually sit in. Ask Klárov versus Úvoz versus Valdštejnská before you time a tram. Ask which campus PDF is the bill. Ask whether lunch in Years 12–13 is even on a list. Ask what the maturita-equivalent sentence means for a Czech university file. Ask whether a scholarship is open this year. Ask what happens if the posting ends in March.

We are not ranking Park Lane against ISP, PBIS, Riverside or the English College. We are not guessing a waitlist.
