Robert Gordon’s College is a co-educational day school at Schoolhill, Aberdeen AB10 1FE. Nursery, Junior and Senior pupils attend the city-centre academic site. Countesswells is the sports ground, not a second academic campus.
Consider it if your family wants day schooling in Aberdeen and the Scottish qualifications route. Compare International School Aberdeen for an IB education at its North Deeside Road campus. If boarding is essential, Gordonstoun in Moray is a different residential option; Robert Gordon’s does not offer boarding.
School stages and curriculum
The school lists Nursery ages 3–5, Junior 5–11 and Senior 12–18. Confirm year placement for a child joining from another system. The Senior School reports average class sizes below 20; that is an average, not a guaranteed maximum.
The Senior curriculum develops as follows:
- S1–S2, the first two secondary years: a broad curriculum, including three sciences taught separately and three languages over the two years.
- S3–S4: eight National 5 courses.
- S5: a choice from 24 Highers, Scottish qualifications used for university entry.
- S6: combinations drawn from 32 Highers and 26 Advanced Highers, alongside enrichment courses. Advanced Highers offer further study beyond Higher level.
The school describes an “open presentation” policy. Ask how it decides which examinations an individual pupil enters and what subject combinations are feasible.
Its published 2025 post-appeal A–C results were 96.5% at National 5, 94.6% at Higher and 95.1% at Advanced Higher. These are school-reported results for that year. The comparison table uses national and independent-school figures from before appeals, so it is not a like-for-like comparison or a 2026 ranking.
Test the Schoolhill journey from your proposed home. For sport, ask how pupils travel to Countesswells and which activities require separate family transport.

Fees for 2026–27
The 2026–27 fee page, checked on 3 September 2026, lists the annual amounts below. Tuition includes VAT and Scottish Qualifications Authority examination fees, but not examination appeals.
- Primary 1 — £13,614 including VAT; £14,289 with lunch
- Primary 2 — £13,614; £14,320 with lunch
- Primary 3 — £18,504; £19,210 with lunch
- Primary 4–6 — £18,504 including VAT. The lunch-inclusive total is printed as £19.371, an apparent punctuation error. Obtain the correct amount from finance before budgeting.
- Primary 7 — £18,504; £19,371 with lunch
- S1–S6 — £21,204 including VAT. The lunch cell on that row is blank
The notes for Primary 7, S1 and S2 refer to a technology levy for the iPad scheme. Confirm whether it is included in your quoted total.
Nursery fees include lunch and snacks:
| Attendance |
2026–27 fee |
| Term-time half day |
£7,230 |
| Term-time full day |
£14,460 |
| Year-round half day |
£9,070 |
| Year-round full day |
£18,135 |
An Aberdeen City Council Early Learning and Childcare Grant can reduce the Nursery invoice. Ask the school which funded entitlement applies to your child and attendance pattern.
The sibling discount is 30% for the third and subsequent child, applied to the youngest eligible children from Primary 1 upwards. Nursery is excluded. Separate historic rates apply to families covered by the August 2011 arrangements; confirm eligibility if that provision is relevant.
Termly payments divide the annual amount into 40%, 35% and 25%, due before the respective terms begin. The page also lists Direct Debit from 1 September. Ask finance for the payment schedule that applies to your arrangement. American Express and Diners Club are not accepted online.
Our view
Choose Robert Gordon’s if its central Aberdeen location, day-school routine and Scottish curriculum suit your child. International School Aberdeen is the more relevant comparison if you specifically want the IB Diploma. Neither location nor qualification should be treated as interchangeable.
