Pierce: Greek schooling, an IB option and the Spata campus

Pierce offers a Greek private-school education with an IB Diploma option after the first lykeio year. For 2026/27, all gymnasio pupils attend East Campus in Spata. Confirm the programme, campus and admissions route before comparing the published fees.

Pierce, the co-educational day school of The American College of Greece (ACG), suits families considering a Greek private-school education with an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) option in the final years. The ACG name does not mean that every pupil follows an American diploma programme.

Two decisions matter before applying: the qualification your child will work towards and the campus they will attend. For 2026/27, the school’s information places all gymnasio pupils at East Campus in Spata, not at the Aghia Paraskevi address associated with ACG.

Greek schooling and the IB option

Pierce runs from pre-kindergarten through Greek secondary education. The Greek programme leads towards the apolytirio, the upper-secondary school-leaving certificate. The IB Diploma is a different qualification.

The IB admissions information concerns students completing Α΄ λυκείου, the first year of Greek upper secondary school. Existing Pierce pupils and external candidates follow different IB admissions policies. Starting at Pierce when young should not be treated as an unconditional guarantee of later IB entry.

For a child transferring from abroad, ask which subjects are taught in Greek and English in the proposed class, and what language proficiency is needed. If your priority is a British curriculum or an American high-school qualification throughout secondary school, compare those programmes directly rather than relying on the college’s name.

Campus and daily travel

ACG’s contact page lists 6 Gravias Street, 153 42 Aghia Paraskevi. Pierce’s useful-information page specifies East Campus, Zinonos Street, 190 04 Spata, for all gymnasio pupils in 2026/27. Gymnasio is the three-year lower-secondary stage.

Confirm the campus for every child in the family, including pupils outside gymnasio. A place at Pierce does not by itself establish an Aghia Paraskevi commute. Check the actual bus route, pickup time and return journey for the campus named in the offer.

General enquiries go to pierce@acg.edu, +30 210 600 9800 or +30 211 107 6800. The IB secretariat uses pierceibsecretariats@acg.edu, extension 1060.

Admissions and financial support

The published IB round for 2026/27

The IB admissions page gave an online application deadline of 26 March 2026 and an entrance examination on Saturday 28 March. Both dates have passed.

External candidates had to pay a non-refundable €60 fee to complete the application; current Pierce pupils were exempt. Candidates needed an ID card or passport on the day. Selection included English and mathematics examinations and an interview. Use the school’s current payment instructions rather than bank details copied from an older notice.

For 2026/27, the page advertised nine academic IB scholarships: one covering 100% of tuition, one covering 75% and seven covering 50%. These are advertised awards for that round, not an assurance of funding for a later applicant.

Other admissions and aid applications

Primary and gymnasio have their own admissions arrangements. The academic scholarship examinations for the first gymnasio year and first lykeio year cover English, Modern Greek and mathematics.

The published financial-aid dates for 2026/27 were:

Applicant category Published period or deadline
New candidates 4–13 May 2026
Newly admitted pupils already enrolled 31 August 2026
Current pupils 1 June–31 August 2026

These dates had all passed by September 2026. Ask admissions whether any application route remains available for the intended class and start date. Neither these dates nor the March IB notice establishes a current vacancy, waiting-list position or 2027 deadline.

Fees for 2026/27

The tuition and charges page identifies these rates as 2026/27:

Programme or year Annual tuition
Pre-kindergarten, including meals €11,770
Kindergarten, including meals €11,770
Primary Years 1–2 €10,490
Primary Years 3–6 €10,160
Gymnasio Years 1–3 €10,160
Each IB Diploma Programme year €14,350

The one-time application/registration charge for new pupils is €300; the IB information also gives €300 for new-pupil registration. These descriptions should not be added as two separate €300 fees.

For primary and gymnasio, contracted catering adds €1,280 if used. Meals are already included in the kindergarten rates above.

The four annual transport-zone charges are €1,420, €1,680, €2,155 and €2,435. Ask which zone applies to the home address and assigned campus.

IB tuition includes the final examinations. Remarking and retakes cost extra. The source extract used for this profile did not establish the Greek lykeio tuition rate; request that price separately rather than using the gymnasio or IB figure.

Our view

Pierce is a relevant choice when a Greek school programme, with a separately assessed IB option later, meets the family’s plans. The campus allocation is just as important as the curriculum: a gymnasio application for 2026/27 means planning around Spata.
