Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam offers a private, English-medium day-school route from age 3 through the IB Diploma years at Verhulstlaan 21 in Hillegersberg. Its main distinction from Rotterdam’s subsidised international schools is the funding model and the possibility of keeping younger and older children at one school.
It is co-educational, with no boarding advertised. The school reports more than 230 pupils from over 35 countries. Its history begins in 1959 with 15 English-speaking children and one teacher. It reports European Council of International Schools accreditation in 1982, the opening of the present campus in 1995, its first IB Diploma class in 1999, and joining Nord Anglia in 2018.
The about page’s IB average of 36.9 belongs to 2021, not the current cohort. For a prospective pupil, the relevant questions are the programme in the intended year, available support and the full cost. The existing sources establish English-medium primary and secondary education and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the final years; they do not establish a specific branded primary curriculum.
Choosing between Rotterdam options
Compare Harbour International Primary if you need subsidised international primary provision under BOOR. Its published €4,500 tuition for 2026/27 is a different funding proposition, subject to its own admissions conditions.
For secondary education, compare Rotterdam International Secondary School, part of Wolfert, with its IGCSE examinations followed by the IB route. Neither school is another NAISR campus. Compare their qualifications, eligibility and total costs as well as the journey from home.
Applying
The admissions information on the fees page says enrolment operates throughout the year. The sequence is enquiry, tour and online application. The school advertises a response within 24 hours, excluding weekends; that is not a promise of a place or a completed admissions decision.
New pupils starting at the beginning of the school year have an induction programme. Ask about availability and the introduction offered for a mid-year entrant.
Tuition for 2026/27
These are published fees for an academic year of ten months, not monthly amounts. The table’s age bands overlap, so use the school year assigned by admissions to determine the charge.

The €1,600 registration charge recurs each year. The €3,000 capital development charge is one-off and applies from Year 1. Both are non-refundable.
For example, our calculation for a new Year 7 pupil is €28,500: €23,600 tuition + €300 application + €3,000 capital development + €1,600 annual registration. This excludes any language or learning support, transport and other applicable extras.
Support and transport costs
LEAP learning support is assessed individually and costs an additional €6,000 for Pathway 1 or €12,000 for Pathway 2. Confirm which provision the child needs and what it includes; the presence of the programme does not guarantee that every need can be accommodated.
English as an Additional Language (EAL) is free in primary. Secondary EAL costs €1,200 in Years 7–9 or €2,400 in Years 10–11, in addition to tuition.
Annual transport prices are:
- 0–5 km: €3,500.
- 5–10 km: €4,500.
- 10–15 km: €5,450.
- Zones 4 and 5: price on request; Zone 6 is unavailable.
