King’s College School Alicante is a co-educational British day school for ages 2–18, at Glorieta del Reino Unido 5, 03008 Alicante. It offers an English-medium route through IGCSE examinations, followed by a choice of IB or A-level study in Sixth Form, the final two school years.

Which qualification do you want?

The school website describes the National Curriculum of England and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It also advertises A-levels introduced from September 2025. Confirm the subjects and route actually available to a new Year 12 pupil: offering both does not mean every subject combination is possible.

The school names a bilingual IB Diploma at the end of Year 13. Its published IB snapshot includes an average of 35 and 50% bilingual diplomas, while the 2026 IGCSE figures are 42% A, 58% A–A and 74% A*–B**. Treat these as school-reported results; the research baseline does not establish the IB cohort year. Promotional rankings on the homepage should not replace a comparison of the proposed subjects and qualification.

European School Alicante offers a different route, with its own admissions categories and the European Baccalaureate, not the IB Diploma or A-levels. Compare it if that qualification and curriculum are what you want. King’s Alicante has no boarding provision advertised; King’s College Soto, near Madrid, is a separate option for a family considering boarding.

Admissions and the school day

Families can arrange a personal admissions meeting on campus or online, and a virtual tour is available. Ask about placement and language readiness for the intended year, and check the journey to the Glorieta del Reino Unido address.

School lunch is compulsory and packed lunches are not allowed. External examination charges, including IGCSE and Cambridge examinations, are additional.

Published 2026/27 fees

The fee PDF is headed 2026/27 and gives three termly payments. The amounts include tuition, lunch, books, materials and the technology fee. Do not add lunch again.

Course Ages 1st term 2nd term 3rd term
Pre-Nursery 2–3 €2,555 €1,915 €1,915
Nursery 3–4 €3,800 €2,845 €2,845
Reception 4–5 €3,800 €2,855 €2,855
Year 1 5–6 €3,910 €2,930 €2,930
Year 2 6–7 €3,970 €2,980 €2,980
Year 3 7–8 €4,335 €3,255 €3,255
Year 4 8–9 €4,370 €3,275 €3,275
Year 5 9–10 €4,400 €3,300 €3,300
Year 6 10–11 €4,505 €3,380 €3,380
Year 7 11–12 €4,930 €3,700 €3,700
Year 8 12–13 €5,010 €3,760 €3,760
Year 9 13–14 €5,020 €3,760 €3,760
Year 10 14–15 €5,190 €3,890 €3,890
Year 11 15–16 €5,355 €4,015 €4,015
Year 12 / DP1 16–17 €5,830 €4,375 €4,375
Year 13 / DP2 17–18 €5,830 €4,375 €4,375

For example, our calculation for Year 7 is €12,330 annually, adding €4,930 + €3,700 + €3,700. For Year 12 or 13 it is €14,580, adding €5,830 + €4,375 + €4,375. These are calculations from the three published terms, not separate annual quotations.

A non-refundable €1,650 registration fee confirms the place and is retained if the family later cancels. Thus a new Year 7 pupil’s calculated first-year total is €13,980, before any applicable transport, English reinforcement or examination charges.

Sibling discounts apply to tuition and bus charges: 10% for the third child, 15% for the fourth and 20% for the fifth and subsequent children. English reinforcement costs €54 per individual lesson or €45 per small-group lesson.

Payments are collected by direct debit during the first ten days of September, January and April. Prices are normally reviewed in February for the following school year.

The same document lists bus corridors serving Alicante, Torrevieja–Aspe–Monforte and Altea–Benidorm. However, its transport footnote says the figures above relate to 2025/26 and may change. Request the current bus tariff; this profile does not treat those older transport prices as confirmed 2026/27 charges.

Our view

Choose King’s Alicante for a British educational route from early childhood, with an IB or A-level decision in the final years, if the city location and full cost work for your family. Choose the European School comparison for a different curriculum and leaving qualification, not because both schools use the word international.

The Alicante guide and Spain guide provide broader comparisons.
