The International School of Toulouse (IST) is a private, co-educational day school at 2 Allée de l’Herbaudière, 31770 Colomiers, west of Toulouse. It teaches in English from age 3 to 18. The secondary programme leads to Cambridge IGCSE examinations and then the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
IST is worth considering if your child needs continuity in English while your family lives in the Toulouse area. It is a different option from a French public school with an international section. Compare the curriculum and entry requirements, not just the word “international” in the name.
There is no boarding provision. All pupils need local accommodation with their family or guardian, including those receiving an IB scholarship.
Admissions and suitability
Applications are accepted throughout the year. The admissions page says decisions for September entry are normally made in April or May. Ask admissions about availability in your child’s year group before making relocation commitments.
From Kindergarten 3 onward, the school assesses whether applicants meet its academic requirements. Primary applicants must provide a sample of writing completed without help. Applicants whose first language is not English should supply evidence of their proficiency; ask what language support is available for the intended year group.
The application includes a registration payment and a tuition-information form. Eligible Airbus families use the relevant billing form. Confirm the correct fee category before submitting payment.
The school offers a maximum of two IB scholarship places each year for exceptionally talented pupils whose families cannot afford the fees. These cover the final two years of secondary education. Availability and selection are separate from ordinary admission; a scholarship does not provide accommodation.
Fees for 2026–27
IST publishes monthly tuition payable over ten months. The annual figures below are our calculations: monthly rate × 10. They are tuition totals, not all-inclusive first-year costs.
Families paying without employer reimbursement
The independent-family rate is for families that are not company-sponsored and receive no reimbursement of any part of tuition.

Both these categories also have a €2,300 registration fee and €4,600 capital fee, each payable once and non-refundable. There is a separate €1,000 refundable deposit.
For example, an independent-family pupil in Grades 1–5 has calculated first-year payments of €26,010 before meals and optional extras: €18,110 tuition, €6,900 in one-time fees and the €1,000 deposit. The deposit is money required upfront, not necessarily a final expense.
Eligible Airbus employees
Employees of Airbus Group companies in the Toulouse area may qualify for a separate rate. Employment alone should not be treated as confirmation: ask admissions and your employer to verify eligibility.

Included items and additional costs
The official fees page lists laptops and associated support, standard textbooks and classroom materials, examination fees, and curricular day trips among the included items.
Pupils from Kindergarten through Grade 10 who remain on site at lunchtime must use the canteen. Older pupils have additional lunch options. The published €747 canteen charge is still labelled 2025–26, so request the 2026–27 amount before adding meals to your budget.
The same page quotes €798 for a weekly 30-minute instrumental lesson. Confirm the school year and billing period for that charge.
Our take
Choose IST if English-medium continuity, the IGCSE-to-IB route and a manageable Colomiers commute are your priorities. The applicable fee category can change the budget substantially, so get that decision in writing.
Compare Lycée International Victor Hugo if you want a public international lycée following the French system. For younger children, investigate the relevant local public-school options separately; the two schools do not cover the same ages or offer interchangeable programmes.
