École Jeannine Manuel Lille is a French–English bilingual school with day and boarding provision at 418bis rue Albert Bailly, 59700 Marcq-en-Barœul. It belongs to the same school as the Paris campuses, but has its own admissions, facilities and fees.

Lille starts at Petite Section, age three, and continues through Terminale. Boarding is available from 6ème through Terminale. Paris starts at age four and has no boarding; a Paris admission or fee schedule should not be assumed to apply in Lille.

Curriculum and language fit

The school describes more than sixty years under contract with the French state (sous contrat). It follows French national programmes except for its own English, science and Chinese curricula. Its aim is fluent spoken and written French and English, with teachers teaching in their native language. The final routes are the Baccalauréat Français International (BFI), a French baccalaureate with an international component, or the IB Diploma.

The admissions page describes tailored French and English teaching for beginners from preschool. Ask how this would work for the child’s age and current language level; it does not establish that every older entrant can immediately join any examination course. The school reports CIS and NEASC institutional accreditation since 2014, distinct from the French state contract and programme authorisation.

Boarding and facilities

Rooms contain a bathroom, desk, storage and bed. Shared spaces include a common room, collaborative study area and dining hall. The school describes a housemaster on each corridor and a trained health professional on site. Ask about the actual staffing pattern, room allocation and weekend arrangements for the proposed stay.

Sports facilities include a 1,500 m² gym with a climbing wall, a 300-metre track and a playing field. A visit should cover both the academic timetable and boarding routine, not just the bedrooms.

Admissions: confirm the current cycle

Applications are normally made in the school year before the intended start, with procedures varying by grade. Campus and boarding visits are available by appointment through admissions.

The Lille page reviewed on 1 September 2026 still headed its information 2026–27 admissions, announced a 22 September opening without a clear current year, and referred to 2025–26 as the current school year. It directed those seeking that current year to the same form, explaining their request in the Interest and Motivation field.

Meanwhile, the Paris update of 27 August 2026 stated that Paris 2026–27 was closed and 2027–28 would open on 22 September 2026. These Paris dates do not resolve Lille’s inconsistent wording. Ask Lille admissions which campaign is open and which start dates can be considered. The existing information does not establish a reliable current deadline or waiting-list length.

Fees

The tuition page links five Lille 2026–27 documents on Google Drive: primary, collège, lycée BFI, lycée IB and boarding. The existing research did not establish their amounts reliably, so no tuition, boarding or first-registration figure is quoted here.

Request the documents for the intended programme and, if relevant, boarding. Obtain a complete invoice and payment, withdrawal and refund terms before accepting. The Paris fee tables are not Lille prices.

Our view

The Marcq campus may suit a family seeking substantial French–English bilingual education in the Lille area, particularly when boarding is needed from 6ème. Confirm both academic and residential availability; the existence of boarding does not guarantee a place.

Lycée International Montebello is a different public secondary option beginning in Seconde, not a like-for-like alternative for younger pupils. Compare qualification, admissions and accommodation needs as well as the journey.

Use the Lille guide and France guide for wider context. Before committing, resolve the admissions calendar directly and obtain Lille-specific fees in writing.
