Frankfurt International School offers English-medium education in Oberursel and Wiesbaden. The European School in Praunheim has category-based admission and a different diploma.

Frankfurt International School, or FIS, is a private day school with English-medium teaching. Pupils work towards a high-school diploma, with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma available in Grades 11–12. The younger years use the IB Primary Years Programme.
Its two campuses do not cover identical ages. Wiesbaden runs through Grade 8; the senior years are in Oberursel. Confirm the campus now and after the next transition before signing a long lease.
European School Frankfurt, at Praunheimer Weg 126, belongs to the intergovernmental European Schools system. It leads to the European Baccalaureate, not the IB. Category I covers qualifying institution staff families; Category II is based on an agreement; other applicants fall under Category III and available capacity.
Language sections follow the child’s mother tongue or dominant language. They are not a free choice of language to learn. The 2026–27 form lists Spanish through S3, while an older FAQ stops it at S2. Ask the school which grades are available and what happens at the next transition.
FIS’s 2026–27 schedule includes tuition and capital assessments. Ask what is due in each of the first two years, then add meals, transport and support where excluded.
At the European School, confirm the family category, language placement and applicable fees before making assumptions about cost. Tuition exemption does not necessarily cover every service. A statement that there is no waiting list should not be read as a promise of immediate admission.
Test Oberursel, Wiesbaden or Praunheim only once the actual placement is clear. For a long stay, also investigate German public schools and the Abitur route.

European School Frankfurt is a Type 1 European School in Praunheim. Admission category and the child's dominant language determine priority, fees and language placement. Category III families can apply only when places remain, and the school does not keep a waiting list.
Oberursel and WiesbadenFIS offers English-medium day schooling in Oberursel and Wiesbaden, with High School and IB Diploma routes in Oberursel. Wiesbaden ends at Grade 8. Families should check later English support and budget for the annual capital assessment in each of the first two years, as well as tuition.
MunichBIS is an English-medium day school with primary provision on both campuses and secondary provision in Haimhausen. It offers all four IB programmes, but its Grade 11–12 routes do not carry the same recognition. Admissions are rolling and capacity-led.
KleinmachnowBBIS offers English-language education from age three through Grade 12, with boarding from Grade 9. Its Kleinmachnow location and the separate tuition, registration and boarding charges are central to the decision.
