Frankfurt is not one IB campus in the Taunus. It is that house on two Hesse sites, and a Type 1 European School in Praunheim. Category I is a different door from an Oberursel open morning.
Frankfurt is not “the international school.” It is a Hessian city with two official climates posting families name in the first week: an English IB house in the Taunus and Wiesbaden, and a Type 1 European School in Praunheim.
The portraits we have are Frankfurt International School and European School Frankfurt. Use them for euro tables. FIS prints a complete 2026/27 page, including a capital-assessment line. ESF prints Category I–III on the official enrolment form; Category I staff children are fee-exempt. This note is the city between them. FIS sits in Oberursel and Wiesbaden. Day school. English in class. PYP, then a High School Diploma, IB optional in 11–12. Time the Taunus woods and the Wiesbaden gate. They are not one lodge.
ESF sits on Praunheimer Weg 126. Type 1. Five language sections. The leaving paper is the European Baccalaureate, not the IB. Category I is not a tour of Oberursel. The school says there is no waiting list — confirm the live sentence.
They share a commuter belt and almost no Monday. Walk both, then a neighbourhood Gymnasium.
If you might stay, an English IB or a European Bac is not automatically the kindest paper. A state Gymnasium, a Stadtteilschule — those are official mornings. Families looking at FIS often also walk a German door in the same week.
The language of the yard is the test. A child can thrive in English at 9 a.m. and still be lonely at 11 if the S-Bahn is speaking German.
Munich and Hamburg are not suburbs of the Taunus. Do not flatten Germany into one woods campus.
Ask which paper this child will hold — IB, European Bac, or Abitur. Ask FIS what the capital-assessment line comes to for your year. Ask ESF whether this family is Category I, II or III.
