The main choice is between qualifications and teaching languages.
Antwerp International School, on Veltwijcklaan in Ekeren, is a private English-medium day school from age three through Grade 12. It offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes. Choose it if an English IB continuum is the priority.
Lycée Français International d’Anvers, on Lamorinierestraat, follows French programmes from preschool. It teaches Dutch from the early years and offers Cambridge English alongside the French curriculum. Choose it for continuity with France or another AEFE school and a route to the French baccalaureate.
Neither is a European School place and neither offers boarding.
Compare the current full cost
AIS’s fee page includes a payment memo and invoice dates for 2026–27, although the table heading itself was not year-labelled in our review. It also lists separate application, capital and examination charges. The first 70% was invoiced on 1 July 2026. Confirm that the live table still applies before using it.
AIS also offers a means-tested scholarship route with limited capacity. Apply through that separate process; do not budget on the minimum possibility until an award is confirmed.
The French lycée’s 2026–27 financial rules distinguish tuition from first registration, meals, transport and other services. Its admissions page still named a €990 first-registration amount. Early reduced-fee deadlines on 31 March and 31 July 2026 have passed. Request the current offer and due dates for a late arrival.
Include Dutch-language life
Ekeren and central Antwerp create different journeys. Test both from your proposed home, including afternoon activities. Ask how Dutch is taught and used socially, especially if the family expects to stay in Flanders. A local Flemish atheneum or other publicly funded school is a serious alternative for a child able to study in Dutch.
