Lycée français Jean-Monnet, the AEFE lycée in Uccle, not a European School

An AEFE day lycée on two Uccle addresses, not European School Brussels I and not a fee-paying IB campus. The French 2026–27 page prints first-inscription and tuition euros. The English page still titles a 2024–25 table. We will not flatten those two screens into one invoice.

The Lycée français Jean-Monnet is a co-educational day AEFE school in Uccle, in gestion directe. Official site lyceefrancais.be. It is not European School Brussels I, which shares the commune and almost no Monday, and not the International School of Brussels in Watermael-Boitsfort.

Main campus, CP through Terminale — 9, avenue du lycée français, 1180 Uccle. Switchboard 02 379 08 10.

Maternelle — 1351, chaussée d’Alsemberg, 1180 Uccle. Switchboard 02 379 08 42.

Contact page: chef d’établissement Madame Laure Moudenproviseur@lyceefrancais.be, assistant Brigitte Marie-Havel, 02 379 08 14. Admissions: Dyliana Renard, admission@lyceefrancais.be, 02 379 08 10. Élémentaire switchboard 02 379 08 84.

It is a day school. There is no boarding house. If the posting has not found a flat in the south of Brussels, Uccle will not absorb the child.

The useful questions are French-network questions. Can this child live a week in French — not only a canteen hour? Which gate will they actually stand in, Alsemberg or the avenue? And have you opened the French 2026–27 tariff page, not only the English screen that still titles 2024–25?

Who it is for

Families who need a French week that travels with the AEFE, and who can live with two Uccle addresses that share a commune and not a playground.

The inscription page: children of more than 60 nationalities. Priority goes to children who come from a French school, in France or abroad. French nationality is not required.

TPS through Terminale. The visit pages print maternelle from 2.5 years. The class-age table on both inscription screens is still labelled September 2025. We will not reprint that table as a 2026 year.

It will not suit a family who only want European School Brussels I because Category I looked cheaper, or the British School of Brussels because the corridor is English. Walk those if that is the climate. They share a ring and almost no paper.

Not Uccle’s European School, not ISB, not a 2024 invoice

European School Brussels I is a Type 1 European School in Uccle, with Berkendael in Forest. Same commune. Different leaving paper. Category I is not a tour of Jean-Monnet.

The International School of Brussels is a fee-paying IB campus in Watermael-Boitsfort. Avenue du lycée français is a French lycée.

The English sign-up page still prints a table titled Prices 2024–2025. The French inscription page and the official annex print Tarifs 2026–2027. We will quote the 2026–27 papers. We will not copy the English 2024–25 euros into a 2026 year.

The campus you can actually picture

Chaussée d’Alsemberg for the little ones. Avenue du lycée français for CP to Terminale. Time both from the flat you can actually rent. The access page: SNCB Uccle-Calevoet is 12 minutes on foot from the lycée. Tram 18 stops at Van Haelen for maternelle. For the avenue: bus 43 (Kauwberg or Gui), bus 60 (Hellevelt), tram 18 (Engeland), trams 92 and 97 (Dieweg).

GETLYF, a parent asbl with a convention with the lycée, runs 18 bus lines in a 20-kilometre radius. Maternelle has a shuttle between the two sites. Write transport@lyceefrancais.be or 02 379 08 68. We will not invent a fare the access page did not print.

Rentrée 2026–27, as the 16 June 2026 note prints it: pupils on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 September, by class. Teachers’ pré-rentrée Tuesday 1 September at 08:30. New collège and lycée pupils are asked to the CVC/CVL welcome on Tuesday 1 at 14:00. School bus from Wednesday 2. Canteen from Friday 4. Children who start on the Wednesday do not come on the Thursday.

The same note splits the first mornings: MS and GS Wednesday 2 at 08:45; TPS, PS and the German section Thursday 3 at 08:45. CM1–CM2 Wednesday 2 at 08:30; CP–CE2 Thursday 3 at 08:30. 6e–3e Wednesday 2 at 08:20; 2nde–Terminale Thursday 3 at 08:20. First-day finish: maternelle 11:35, élémentaire 12:15, secondary 12:25.

Languages

The week is French. That is the house, not an option.

After a place is confirmed, the French inscription page invites families to choose among the dispositifs. Hourly-parity classes in élémentaire, and section internationale in collège and lycée, have limited places. Access is subject to review of the file. The English sign-up page adds an entrance test for those tracks. We will not flatten those two sentences. Ask admissions which screen applies to this child.

The 2026–27 annex prices those extras beside tuition: hourly-parity €160; CHAMThé (music and theatre timetable) €850; secondary international sections, Baccalauréat Français International and Bachibac €600.

How a child actually gets in

Applications online from January. You pay nothing when you apply. Places are announced from April, then as chairs free. A place is confirmed when the file is complete and the first-inscription rights are paid.

The file, as both inscription pages list it: full birth certificate; parents’ identity papers; reports from last year and this year; a school certificate; later, an exeat showing the previous school’s accounts are clear, plus the third-term report.

If numbers will not take a new pupil in that year, the request sits on a waiting list. Freed places go as families withdraw. Mid-year arrival is case by case. Write Dyliana Renard.

The French inscription page, in April 2026, offered small-group visits on Saturday 30 May 2026. The dated news note: welcome at 10:00, about 1 hour 30, maternelle from 2.5 years on Alsemberg, main campus from 6 years on the avenue. The English sign-up page we opened still advertised Saturday 31 January 2026. That Saturday is already history. Read the live s’inscrire page before you diary a morning.

The same inscription screen labels virtual visits for maternelle, élémentaire, and collège/lycée. Use them. Then still walk the gate the child would use.

Money, as the 2026–27 French papers print it

First inscription, non-refundable: €1,200.

Cycle Annual tuition 2026–27
Maternelle €8,890
Élémentaire €8,350
Collège €10,140
Lycée €11,240

The annex splits that year 40% / 30% / 30%, due 31 October 2026, 31 January 2027, 30 April 2027.

Meals, same papers: repas tartine €160; half-board €1,240 for four days (Mon–Tue–Thu–Fri); €1,560 for five days, collège only.

Sibling remissions on tuition, as the annex prints them: 5% for the second child on roll, 25% for the third, 50% from the fourth. On half-board: 15% for the third child, 20% from the fourth.

Études surveillées in élémentaire, five days: €210. Garderie (maternelle and élémentaire): €1,170 for four days; €460 for Wednesday only.

Exam lines on the same annex: brevet €31; épreuves anticipées de français €108; Bac €214. Swimming: €153 a year. School trips are billed in the term they happen. Textbooks from CP to Terminale are the family’s to buy.

The règlement financier allows, on request and after the accountant agrees, monthly SEPA instead of the three terms.

French pupils registered at the Consulate General in Brussels may, under resource rules, ask the AEFE for bourses scolaires. The lycée also names a caisse de solidarité — write facturation@lyceefrancais.be. We will not invent an award.

Leaving certificate

The Baccalauréat. That is not the European Baccalaureate at Brussels I, and not the IB at ISB. The house also names the BFI and Bachibac as paid extras on the 2026–27 annex. The inscription page: many foreign universities, especially in North America, treat the last French lycée year as equivalent to a first post-secondary year. That is the lycée’s sentence. It is not a promise we will translate into a Belgian or American place.

What to ask on the stairs

Ask which of the two Uccle gates this child would actually use. Ask whether the file is coming from a French school — that is the printed priority. Ask which 2026–27 euro arrives, because the English page is still a year behind. Ask whether hourly-parity or section internationale is a hope or a chair, and whether this year wants a test. Ask how GETLYF sits from the commune you can live in. Ask what happens if the posting ends in November.

We are not ranking Jean-Monnet against a European School French section. We are not inventing a waitlist length.

Read the live French inscription page and the 2026–27 tariff annex before you resign an Uccle flat. This is a map. The school still has to be the right Tuesday.
