Stedelijk College Eindhoven is a Dutch public secondary school with two sites. This profile covers Henegouwenlaan 2, 5628 WK Eindhoven, where students can follow mavo, havo, atheneum or gymnasium. The school also offers bilingual havo and vwo.
The other site, Oude Bossche Baan, has a different programme mix. Families should confirm the correct location before attending an event or making an application.
Stedelijk is a day school. It does not advertise boarding.
Dutch qualifications, with an optional bilingual route
Henegouwenlaan offers the following mainstream routes:
- mavo, a four-year programme also known as vmbo-t
- havo, which normally lasts five years
- vwo-atheneum and vwo-gymnasium, which normally last six years
- De Campus, a separate education concept with its own admissions process
The bilingual programme, usually called TTO, is available only in havo and vwo. It is not offered in mavo. Mavo students can instead choose an enhanced-English programme with an extra English lesson each week.
In TTO, the school says that 50% of lessons are taught in English in the lower years. That proportion falls to 25% in the upper years, when students prepare for Dutch national examinations.
There is no separate TTO entrance test. The school presents the route as suitable for students who enjoy languages and want an international element within Dutch secondary education.
The upper school offers IB English Language and Literature to native speakers. This is an individual subject, not the full IB Diploma Programme. Students still work towards a Dutch havo or vwo qualification.
Applying for Year 1 in 2027
The school’s live calendar lists the central Year 1 application period as 25–31 March 2027. Applications in the Eindhoven–Kempenland region are normally coordinated through the LDOS system.
The detailed Henegouwenlaan admissions page has not yet been updated for 2027–28. It still describes the March 2026 cycle, which is closed. Families should therefore use the 2027 dates as advance planning information and check the detailed procedure when the school updates it.
Current orientation events include:
- English information evening on 12 November 2026
- open day on 31 January 2027, from 10:00 to 15:00
- Year 8 discovery afternoon on 3 March 2027
The calendar also lists TTO try-outs on 4 November 2026 and 13 January 2027. Registration may be required for those smaller events.
Places are managed by year, level and programme. A central allocation is not the same as final admission. Ask the school when it will publish the complete 2027–28 procedure and any capacity rules.
Costs
Stedelijk is a public school and does not publish an international-school tuition fee. Its current contribution page is still labelled 2025–26, so these figures should not be treated as confirmed charges for 2026–27 or 2027–28.
The page lists a general voluntary parental contribution of €90. It also gives the following 2025–26 amounts:
| Item |
Published amount |
| Year 1 camp |
€110 |
| Physical education as an examination subject |
€45 |
| Drawing materials |
€30 |
| TTO Year 1, including the €90 contribution but excluding camp |
€170 |
| TTO Years 2–3, including the €90 contribution |
€245 |
| TTO Years 4–6, including the €90 contribution |
€180 |
The school describes these payments as voluntary. Trips and exchanges are billed separately, and their prices are not published on this page. Ask for the current-year schedule before making a budget.
Daily schedule and support
The published 2026–27 schedule uses 45-minute lessons. The first lesson begins at 08:30, and the ninth ends at 16:30. A student’s actual finish time depends on the timetable.
The school offers Dutch-as-a-second-language support through its International Student Programme. It advises many students who are still learning Dutch to enter a Dutch-medium mavo, havo or vwo route rather than TTO. This is because most upper-school subjects and the final examinations are in Dutch.
Families whose child needs substantial support should discuss the school’s support profile before applying. Admission depends on both available places and whether the school can provide an appropriate programme.
How to compare it
Stedelijk suits families looking for a Dutch secondary qualification with the option of additional English in havo or vwo. It is not an international school in the usual sense, and TTO does not remove the need for strong Dutch.
International School Eindhoven is a different type of school. It offers English-medium international primary education and IB secondary programmes, with statutory eligibility rules and annual fees.
