Lycée Victor Hugo is a French day school at Palazzo Venturi Ginori, Via della Scala 85, 50123 Firenze, belonging to Mission laïque française (MLF), the French secular education network. It teaches the French curriculum from maternelle through Terminale, leading to the brevet and Baccalauréat. It does not advertise boarding.
The homepage contact is +39 055 029911, contact.florence.hugo@mlfmonde.org. The older 2025–26 financial rules instead give +39 055 266 991 and secretariat.florence.hugo@mlfmonde.org; use the homepage contact to confirm arrangements.
Curriculum and school identity
The school describes French and Italian cultural learning, with French, Italian and English from preschool and a fourth language from quatrième. It reports 423 pupils and 50 years of operation; these are school-published snapshots.
The financial rules describe Victor Hugo as self-financed, without a French state subsidy. Fees cover operation and investment, and enrolment requires acceptance of MLF’s secular educational values. It is not described as an AEFE directly managed establishment.
Admissions
A validated Eduka file and first-registration payment are required to secure enrolment. Pupils transferring from another MLF MONDE school are exempt from the first-registration fee.
The published rule requires re-enrolment for the following year before 30 May. Applied to 2026–27, that deadline fell in May 2026 and has passed. It is a re-enrolment rule, not proof that all new applications are closed. Ask the office about current availability and any late procedure.
Pupils may attend class only after registration or re-registration is complete and all amounts due are paid.

Our view
Victor Hugo is relevant for families seeking French schooling in central Florence, with Italian and English alongside it. International School of Florence offers a different IB or American-diploma route across two sites. Compare the qualification and daily journey, not simply the international label.
