Zurich · time both roads
Zurich schools, the lake shore and Zumikon
Zurich is not one international campus. ZIS sits on the lake shore south of the city. ICS sits in Zumikon. Same canton. Almost no Monday. Time both roads.
Zurich · time both roads
Zurich is not one international campus. ZIS sits on the lake shore south of the city. ICS sits in Zumikon. Same canton. Almost no Monday. Time both roads.
Zurich is not “the international school.” It is a German-speaking canton with two English IB day houses posting families name in the first week, and a much older set of Volksschulen that stay families name in the second.
The portraits we have are Zurich International School in Wädenswil and Adliswil, and Inter-Community School Zurich in Zumikon. Use them for franc tables. ZIS prints 2026/27 on the German fees page. ICS prints 2026–27 Financial Regulations, including Lex Aeppli in the younger years. This note is the city between them. The Switzerland country page is the wider map — Zug, Basel, Leysin.
ZIS sits on the lake shore — Lower School in Wädenswil, Middle and Upper in Adliswil. IB or AP in the upper school. A bilingual English/German path in the younger years. It is not Bahnhofstrasse.
ICS sits in Zumikon, east of the lake. PYP, MYP, Diploma. About 800 students on the school’s own snapshot, since 1960. Add the capital fund. Ask whether Lex Aeppli applies to this child in Kindergarten through Grade 4.
They share a canton and almost no Monday. Time both gates from the flat you will actually rent.
If you might stay, an English IB is not automatically the kindest paper. A Volksschule that charges nothing at the door, a cantonal Gymnasium — those are official mornings.
The language of the yard is the test. High German in the classroom and Swiss-German in the park are not the same Tuesday.
Zug and Basel are not suburbs of Zurich. Leysin is a boarding mountain, not a day commute.
Ask which road this child stands on. Ask ICS whether Lex Aeppli applies. Add the capital lines. Time Wädenswil and Zumikon on the same wet Tuesday.
The city hub is the short map. The two portraits are the long ones.
Friendly orientation, not formal admissions advice. Always confirm dates with the school.
Zurich’s older English IB day house sits in Zumikon, not on the lake shore in Wädenswil. The 2026–27 Financial Regulations print francs. Add the capital fund before you compare it to ZIS.
Wädenswil and AdliswilZIS is a day school on two campuses. The 2026/27 fee table is on de.zis.ch. Whether a company partnership puts you first in the queue is a question for enrolment, not for a blog.
Chesières, Villars-sur-OllonChesières sits above Villars at about 1,200 metres. The school will send a tuition document. We will not borrow a number from a directory.
Pully, LausanneA Nord Anglia Swiss-international on the Vaud shore, not the UN quarter. Pully takes boarding from 11. Nyon stops at 12. The 2026–27 PDFs print day totals and a full-boarding year of CHF 112,000.
The letters on the leaver’s certificate matter. They are not the whole child. Here is how to tell them apart without a headache, and without pretending every door stays open.
16 minYou do not need a perfect algorithm. You need a few true things about your child, a boring list on the fridge, and the courage to ignore a beautiful campus that does not fit.
15 minTuition is the number on the homepage. The PDF is the number that arrives in March. Here is how to read the second one, without inventing a euro, a krona, or a deadline.
12 minSkip the question about last year’s average. Ask the ones that make a teacher’s face change. Then look at the corridor while they answer.
