Zuoz · time the valley

Zuoz schools, an Engadine house with two papers

Zuoz is not a Zurich suburb and not a Geneva lake campus. The portrait we have is a 1904 Engadine house with Swiss Matura, IGCSE and IB. Boarding and day. Time the train, not Bahnhofstrasse.

Also in Deutsch

Zuoz is not “the international school.” It is an Engadine village whose Romansh and German mornings are allowed to be first, plus one official boarding-and-day door posting families name in the first week.

The portrait we have is Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz. Use it for the 2026–27 franc tables — boarding 101,100 or 104,900, international day 57,300 or 67,000, a cantonal Matura day line on a different PDF. This note is the valley around it. The Switzerland country page is the wider map — Geneva, Zurich, Lugano, Leysin.

One climate, one valley

Zuoz sits above St. Moritz. Grades 7–12. About 12 to 19. Day and boarding. Swiss Matura, IGCSE, IB. Youngest boarders in Spencer House and Chesa Crasta. It is not a Zurich hub card.

Walk it, then a valley Gymnasium courtyard, so you can hear which language the child relaxes in.

The Swiss village is the other school

If you might stay, an IB or a bilingual Matura from a boarding house is not automatically the kindest paper. A cantonal door in the same valley — that is an official morning. Zurich is another canton. Lugano is another language.

The language of the yard is the test. A child can thrive in English at 9 a.m. and still be lonely at 11 if the village is speaking German or Romansh.

Leysin’s live tuition page did not give us a year we could quote. We name that mountain on the country page. We have not written its portrait.

What to ask on the stairs

Ask which paper. Ask whether you are buying day or a bed. Add the Legacy Fund and the deposit before you compare the annual line to Montagnola.

Time Zuoz on a Sunday evening if you are buying a bed.

The city hub is the short map. The Lyceum portrait is the long one.

Friendly orientation, not formal admissions advice. Always confirm dates with the school.
