Luxembourg is not one international campus. It is an English National Curriculum house and an IB house, both in the city, both already counting a state subsidy. The commute is short on a map and long at 8:10.
Luxembourg is not “the international school.” It is a small capital whose public and European-school mornings are allowed to be first, plus two official English-facing doors posting families name in the first week.
The portraits we have are St George’s International School Luxembourg on rue des Peupliers and the International School of Luxembourg. Use them for euro tables. St George’s public schedule we could read is 2025/26; the school also links a 2026/27 PDF — confirm the live sheet. ISL’s Board printed 2026–27. St George’s is English National Curriculum, IGCSE, then A Level or BTEC. Day school. French and Luxembourgish sit on the primary timetable. Read the notice-of-leaving clause.
ISL is English-medium through 18, IB Diploma for most of Grades 11–12. The postal address on boulevard Pierre Dupong is not, the school says, the map pin. Ask admissions which gate you actually stand in.
They share a capital and almost no Monday. Walk both, then a lycée courtyard.
If you might stay, an English A Level or an IB is not automatically the kindest paper. A state lycée, a European School section — those are official mornings. Families looking at ISL often also walk the European School map in the same week, because Category I is a different door from a fee-paying English campus.
The language of the yard is the test. A child can thrive in English at 9 a.m. and still be lonely at 11 if the playground is speaking French, German, or Luxembourgish.
Ask which paper this child will hold — A Level, BTEC, IB, or a Luxembourg diplôme. Ask St George’s for the 2026/27 sheet in writing. Ask both what the subsidy already covers, and what still arrives as extras.

This is a Type 1 European School on Kirchberg, not the Mamer/Bertrange house and not a fee-paying IB campus. The leaving diploma is the European Baccalaureate. Category I is fee-exempt.
