Bergen schools, a Sandsli campus that stops at 16

Bergen is not “the international school.” It is a west-coast city whose municipal grunnskole is allowed to be first, plus one official English-facing door posting families name in the first week.

The portrait we have is the International School of Bergen on Sandslihaugen 36. Use it for the Board’s 2026–27 kroner. B1, B2 and C are printed. Tuition A is upon application — we will not invent that line. The campus stops at Grade 10. This note is the city around it. One climate, one hill above the fjord

ISB sits in Sandsli, about 15 km from the centre. Day school. IB PYP and MYP. Not Bekkestua. Not Hafrsfjord. The Diploma years live elsewhere.

Walk it, then a municipal yard, so you can hear which language the child relaxes in.

The Norwegian city is the other school

If you might stay, an English MYP that ends at 16 is not automatically the kindest paper. A grunnskole, a supported privatskole — those are official mornings. Oslo is another posting. Stavanger is oil-town weather. Trondheim ends at 16 too, on a different fjord.

The language of the yard is the test. A child can thrive in English at 9 a.m. and still be lonely at 11 if the harbour is speaking Norwegian.

What to ask on the stairs

Ask where this child goes after Grade 10. Ask which fee category the Board will actually put on your invoice. Time Sandsli at 8:10 in the rain.
