Collège du Léman is a co-educational day and boarding school at Route de Sauverny 74, 1290 Versoix, on the Geneva side of the lake, about twenty minutes from the airport in the school’s own copy. This is not Ecolint. Ecolint is a foundation day school on three campuses. CDL is one Versoix campus with a boarding corridor and five published leaving papers. Institut Florimont in Petit-Lancy is the other Monday again: a Geneva private with a Catholic founding story, Swiss and French and IB paths, no boarding fee like this one.

The useful questions are: Do you need a bed, or a day commute from Versoix? Which of the five diplomas will this child actually sit? And can you read a Swiss-franc table that is not Ecolint’s?

Who it is for

Families who want English, French, or a mix, and a choice of diploma at 16. The school’s own high-school list: IB Diploma, IB Career-related Programme, American High School Diploma, French Baccalauréat, and Swiss Maturité, plus IGCSE on the way. Director General Dr Emmanuel Bonin is named on the 2026 welcome copy.

Boarding is real. The homepage band says boarding ages 10 to 18. The admissions FAQ says boarding for 8 to 18-year-olds. The 2026–27 boarding fee table is labelled G5–12 / CM2–Terminale. Ask admissions which age is actually housed this year. Do not borrow Ecolint’s day-only sentence.

It will not suit a family looking for a UN-quarter foundation school, or a Petit-Lancy bilingual private without Nord Anglia language. Walk those doors the same week.

The campus you can actually picture

More than 50 acres between the Jura and the lake, in the school’s facilities copy: Olympus Gymnasium, all-weather pitch, STEAM labs, a village feel on a large site. 120+ nationalities. Juilliard and MIT collaborations are Nord Anglia sentences — ask what they look like in this child’s timetable.

Time the Versoix gate from the flat you will actually rent. Geneva traffic is not the postcard.

From early years, teaching can be English, French, or both; the FAQ says a subject might be French on Monday and English on Tuesday, and that pathways can switch year to year. In high school the child picks an international, American, French or Swiss programme.

The school’s marketing copy cites a 100% pass rate across all five diplomas, an IBDP average of 36.5, and 69% A*–A at IGCSE. Those are the school talking about a published cohort, not a promise. Confirm the year on the academic-results page before you repeat a number at dinner.

First day of school for 2026–27, on the admissions calendar: Monday 24 August 2026. Last day for students: Friday 25 June 2027. Autumn holiday 12–23 October 2026; Christmas 21 December 2026–8 January 2027; ski week 15–19 February 2027; Easter 26 March–9 April 2027.

How a child actually gets in

Applications are year-round; a child can start mid-year if a place exists. The school says the journey can take two to three weeks from first contact to offer. Review takes five working days once the file is complete.

Steps the admissions page names: enquiry (say if you need boarding); tour or virtual meeting; online application plus supporting documents; boarders also complete a video questionnaire; CHF 500 application fee per student, non-refundable; confidential report from the current school. Then an offer if space exists, then contract and fees, then a welcome pack.

All figures include VAT, in Swiss francs, from the official day and boarding PDFs. Confirm those PDFs before you budget.

Day — one-time, first year: application 500; admission 3,800; refundable security deposit 600. Advance on school fees 2,500, due within 10 business days of offer or re-enrolment. Admission fee is halved for a second child and waived from the third if parents are not employer-covered for tuition. Only the security deposit is reimbursed if you cancel after enrolment.

Lunch, bus, uniforms (mandatory in pre and primary), field trips, after-school activities, and exam fees (IB, Matu, Bac, TOEFL, SAT, IGCSE) are separate. One set of books is included. Multi-child discount on tuition: 3rd child −10%, 4th −15%, 5th −25%.

Payment plans: A all fees 15 June 2026; B half on 15 June and half on 15 November 2026; C ten months 30 June 2026–31 March 2027 plus CHF 500 and obligatory LSV.

Included on the boarding table: health insurance, books and mandatory supplies, field trips, three mountain weekends, personal laundry (excess and dry-cleaning extra), device insurance, EAL and maths support in the first marking period for new students at named EAL levels, September discovery-days trip, sports uniform. Exam fees extra. Learning support, boarding trips, private lessons and homework support can be extra.

A first-year day IB place is not “about 37,500.” It is application + admission + deposit + advance + the annual band + lunch and the bus. A boarder is a different budget entirely. Do the sum on the live PDFs.

What to ask on the stairs

Ask which diploma this child would actually start in Grade 11. Ask whether boarding this year begins at 8, 10, or G5. Ask what “bilingual” means in this week’s timetable, not in the film. Walk Ecolint and Florimont the same week. Time Versoix at 7:40.

What we are not claiming

We are not ranking CDL against Ecolint. We are not inventing a 2027–28 franc. We are not resolving the 8-versus-10 boarding age without admissions. Read the current day and boarding tables and the admissions page before you sign a Versoix lease. This is a map. The school still has to be the right Tuesday.
