The British School Warsaw is a day school on two sites, part of Nord Anglia Education. Primary and Secondary sit at ul. Limanowskiego 15, 02-943 in Sadyba. The Early Years Centre sits at ul. J. Dąbrowskiego 84, 02-571 in Upper Mokotów. Primary and Secondary: +48 22 842 32 81. Early Years: +48 22 646 77 77. Email: british@thebritishschool.pl. Use the Nord Anglia URL above. The older thebritishschool.pl name still appears on email, the fee PDF letterhead, and the legal line. The operating company on the 2026–27 PDF is The British School Sp. z o.o., KRS 0000342123, NIP 527-261-56-46, share capital 35,005,000 PLN. If a search result puts you on a different British school in another Polish city, you are in the wrong voivodeship.
Iwona Thomas founded the school in 1992, in partnership with Nord Anglia, with 35 students. The admissions FAQ now says 1,100 students across the two campuses, and an accredited IB school for over 20 years. Principal John Brett is the name on the homepage. Those are the school’s own figures.
It is co-ed. Every child is placed in one of four Houses — Bison, Bear, Lynx, or Wolf — from the start. That is a pastoral colour, not a boarding house.
The useful questions are local. Can this child work in English, or will Intensive English Language Support at 3,600 PLN a term sit on the first invoice? Do you want the British IGCSE-then-IB path, or A-levels — both exist here, at the same Year 12–13 price? Will a Polish-passport child actually take the Podstawa Programowa and leave with a Świadectwo? And do you understand that Year 11 and Year 13 are usually closed to new joiners?
TBS Warsaw is a premium British international school for families who want English from Pre-Nursery through Year 13, a Nord Anglia network if the next posting is another city, and who can pay in złoty on the dates the PDF names.
Applications run year round. Admissions support is offered in English and Polish. The school says it will reply within 24 hours of an application. A place is not final until the required fees and deposit have arrived.
Years 11 and 13 are the exception. IGCSE and IB Diploma courses run over two years; the school does not normally admit into those years. Exceptions are only for transfers from other IGCSE or IB schools whose subjects match. If you are arriving in March of Year 11, write before you hope.
Minimum age is 2.5. Pre-Nursery on the PDF is five full days.
It is a day school. There is no boarding house on the pages we opened. If the posting has not found a flat on the Mokotów–Sadyba side, this campus will not absorb the child.
The homepage was advertising A-level places still available when we looked. Treat that as a live inventory notice, not a permanent fact.
Two addresses, two ages, one invoice.
Early Years, Dąbrowskiego 84, is in Upper Mokotów: a purpose-built site with green outdoor space, imaginative play equipment, a mud kitchen, and a mini garden. Younger children stay here. They do not commute to the IB building for story time.
Primary and Secondary, Limanowskiego 15, is in Sadyba: brighter classrooms, computer labs, a music technology suite, art rooms, purpose-built science labs, two libraries, three indoor sports halls, an all-weather pitch, a dance studio, a separate Year 2 playground, and a modern IB College the school calls a hub for seniors.
Ask to see both sites if you have a four-year-old and a fourteen-year-old. The drop-off is not the same street. January slush on Limanowskiego is not the June all-weather pitch.
The homepage splits the offer cleanly.
Early Years, ages 2.5–5. Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Reception. Class caps the FAQ prints: Pre-Nursery up to 16, Nursery up to 18, Reception and Year 1 up to 20. Each Early Years and Primary class has one or two teaching assistants. Teachers communicate through a weekly class newsletter and Tapestry.
Primary, ages 5–11. The school says it is the only school in Poland with IPC accreditation. Maximum class size for Primary and Secondary is 24. Communication moves to SeeSaw. Polish native-track work toward the Podstawa Programowa starts in Year 2 (more below). From Year 4, every student may choose French, German, or Spanish.
Middle and Upper School, ages 11–18. British-shaped secondary, then a fork. IGCSE sits in the middle years. At 16–18 the school offers the IB Diploma and A-levels. The fee PDF is explicit: the Year 12–13 rate is the same whichever leaving route you pick. Pre-IB exists for eligible candidates at the Year 11 tuition rate.
Principal Brett’s line is that the point, from Early Years through Year 13, is the skills for a life after school. Nord Anglia collaborations the homepage sells: MIT (STEAM), Juilliard (performing arts), UNICEF. Extra-curriculars: “over 70,” refreshed by term, from ballet and rock band to DSN, Young Enterprise, robotics, and martial arts. Most LEAP clubs are free from Nursery up; specialist outside providers may charge. Options change by semester. Ask for this term’s list.
Primary leadership roles the school names: Head Students, Student Council, House Captains, Creativity Champions, Reading Agents, Global Wellbeing, Eco Team. Events it bothers to list: Prom, Green Camp, art exhibitions, concerts, Christmas Fair, a Tanzania expedition, a trip to MIT.
There is a weekly whole-school newsletter, termly reports, and parent meetings. A PTA runs coffee mornings, book swaps, an International Fair, Burns Night, quiz nights, and charity collections.

Every academic subject is taught in English. Teachers, the FAQ says, hold a teaching degree or a UK PGCE (or home-country equivalent), and most are native English speakers.
Polish is “an integral part of our curriculum.” Native Polish students follow a programme based on the Polish Podstawa Programowa from Year 2 to Year 11 and receive end-of-year Polish certificates (Świadectwo). The school says this combination meets Polish Ministry requirements. Non-Polish students take Polish as an additional foreign language from Year 1. From Year 4, French, German, or Spanish join the menu. Language clubs (Polish, Spanish) sit in the extra-curricular list.
EAL is described as strong for newcomers with little or no English. It is also a priced line: Intensive English Language Support is 3,600 / 3,600 / 1,800 PLN across the three terms. Ask whether your child would be in the included classroom diet or on that invoice.
If you want a child who can live in Warsaw rather than only commute through Sadyba, test the Polish paragraph on the tour. Ask how many hours in Year 3 versus Year 9, how native and foreign-language sets are made, and what a January arrival is doing by June.
The published steps: enquire; take a guided campus tour (or a virtual one) and meet senior staff; apply (year-round, 24-hour first reply); file the documents; placement if the school thinks the child will thrive; place secured when fees and deposit are paid.
What they read: the application, previous school reports, year-group availability, and, for older students, academic ability. Primary and Secondary applicants must send the most recent reports with the form. SEN and EAL needs are meant to be identified during application; the school will see whether it can accommodate them.
After the file arrives, the child is invited to an assessment and/or interview. The entry-requirements page is specific:
The school aims to process a file within two weeks of receiving documents and any test data, and to share the outcome in that window. Accept the offer letter in writing. If the child meets the criteria but the year is full, they go on a waiting list.
New families get information before day one, a buddy, and, if you want, an introduction to another family. Orientation is the Monday before Term 1.
Withdrawal needs written termination of the Acceptance Agreement with three months’ notice. You must get written acknowledgement back. The PDF repeats the three-month right.
All fees are in PLN. The public tuition page and the 2026–27 PDF match on the main grid. The PDF is dated 10 March 2026.
There is no registration fee. New students pay an extra 4,000 PLN on the first term, described as an assessment-and-settling charge to reserve the place. It is refunded if the place is not confirmed. A place is confirmed after the initial assessment and after the school has received that 4,000 PLN plus the 4,000 PLN deposit, by the pro-forma date.
The deposit is 4,000 PLN per child, refundable on leaving if accounts are clear and school property is back. Missing items are charged at current purchase prices.
Annual fees in the table already include a 4.5% discount if the whole year is paid by 30 June 2026 on the pro-forma. Miss that, and the yearly invoice is withdrawn and termly invoices go out instead. Term weights are 40% / 40% / 20%.

Payment dates: annual or Term 1 by 30 June 2026; Term 2 by 19 November 2026; Term 3 by 1 March 2027. Mid-year joiners are pro-rated. A start in April means one quarter of Term 2 plus all of Term 3.
Sibling discount: 5% on tuition for the third and subsequent children.

A first-year Year 7, paid termly, is not “about 123,000.” It is the three terms (122,960 if you instead captured the annual discount) plus 4,000 new-student first-term extra plus 4,000 deposit — 130,960 PLN on the annual-discount path, before lunch, the bus, or Intensive English. If you pay termly without the 4.5%, add the three termly lines plus the two 4,000s. Do the arithmetic on the live PDF, not on this paragraph. We are not converting to euros.
TBS Warsaw calls itself inclusive. The learning-support department offers targeted help; specialist teachers sit on that team. The honest sentence on the FAQ is: get in touch and they will see whether they can accommodate the need. Intensive SEN support or speech therapy is the 3,600 / 3,600 / 1,800 PLN grid above, “depending on individual student’s needs and arrangements.” Bring the current reports to the first meeting and ask what can be staffed this year, and which part of it is already inside tuition.
EAL is both a pride sentence and a line item. Ask which.
The homepage says students reach Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford, Yale “and more,” and that students achieve IB scores of 45. That is marketing language for a perfect diploma, not a published cohort average. We are not inventing a mean. Ask the IB office for the latest results summary if you need one.
A-levels and the IB sit on the same campus and the same Year 12–13 fee. Pre-IB is a Year 11-priced bridge for eligible candidates. Subject match matters if you are transferring in. External exam registration is extra.
Native Polish students who have followed the Podstawa track through Year 11 leave with annual Świadectwo certificates. That is not automatically a full Polish matura. Ask the counsellor what else, if anything, is required for a Polish public-university door.
Ask where a January arrival sits at lunch in week one — and which campus that lunch is on. Ask how Polish native and foreign-language sets work in Year 3 and Year 9. Ask whether Year 11 or 13 is actually closed this season. Ask how many Year 12s are on the IB and how many on A-levels. Ask what Intensive English would cost in this child’s first two terms. Ask whether a third child’s 5% is on the discounted annual figure or the termly one. Ask what three months’ written notice does if a posting ends in February. Ask to see a Reception classroom and the IB College, not only the all-weather pitch. Ask how long Limanowskiego takes from your address at 7:40.
We are not ranking TBS Warsaw against the American School of Warsaw. We are not guessing a waitlist. We are not treating a homepage 45 as a cohort average. We are not inventing a bus price or a 2027/28 fee. We are not converting PLN to euros.
Read the current tuition page and the 2026–27 PDF, then write to british@thebritishschool.pl before you sign a lease in Wilanów because Sadyba looked close on a Sunday. This is a map. The school still has to be the right Tuesday.
