Institut Florimont is a co-educational day school at Avenue du Petit-Lancy 37, 1213 Petit-Lancy. Founded in 1905 by the Congregation of the Missionaries of Saint Francis de Sales. Switchboard +41 22 879 00 00. Reception reception@florimont.ch. The English home page calls it a private school from kindergarten to upper secondary, francophone or bilingual, “rooted in the Catholic tradition yet open to all faiths.”

This is not Ecolint and not Collège du Léman. Ecolint is the foundation international on three campuses. CDL is Versoix, Nord Anglia, day and boarding, five diploma names. Florimont is a Geneva privé on one Petit-Lancy hill: Swiss Maturité, French Bac, and IB, with a bilingual track the tariff prices separately.

The useful questions are: Do you want a Swiss or French leaving paper more than an IB campus? Can you live with French as the house language even when a bilingual stream exists? And can you read a quarterly franc invoice?

Who it is for

Families who will still be in Geneva at eighteen and want a cantonal or French paper that a Swiss university already knows how to read. Families who want the IB without moving to Nations or Versoix. Families who can sit a Catholic-founded house without needing the chapel to be the whole story — the school’s own join-us copy says open to all faiths.

It will not board anyone. If you need a Child-Student corridor or a five-diploma supermarket, walk CDL. If you need the IB as the whole climate from PYP up, walk Ecolint and ask which campus.

The parent guide for 2026–27 describes the maturité cantonale as a four-year path, with five main branches (French, mathematics, German or Italian, English, plus the option spécifique) taking final exams for half the mark. In 3ème, students choose among bio-chemistry, physics and application of mathematics (PAM), economics, law, and Spanish. The IB is named as a bilingual French/English diploma path. Confirm the live guide; programmes move.

The campus you can actually picture

Petit-Lancy, not the old town. The school names science and robotics laboratories (STEAM), sports facilities by age, a stadium opened in 1963, a nursery in 2013, the IB from 2014, an Art/Sport stream from 2022, an Innovation Hub in 2024, and a 120th anniversary in 2025. Memberships the footer names: QSC, AGEP (Geneva private schools), Eco-schools, ISO 21001.

Ask to see a cycle classroom and a Terminale IB room, not only the hill. Time the tram from the flat you will actually rent.

How the years are organised

The English home page’s own bands:

Maternelle — three years, preparing for “big school.”

Primaire — skills and knowledge, with a bilingual stream the tariff prices.

Lower secondary (Cycle) — a common core of three years in French or bilingual French/English, leading toward the Plan d’étude romand.

Upper secondary (Secondaire 2) — Swiss Maturité, French Baccalauréat, or IB.

The Art/Sport stream has its own tariff lines in middle school. The international section (Pre-IB and IB) has its own, higher, lines.

We will not reprint a 100% success rate from a homepage animation. Ask the school for the cohort year if a percentage matters to you.

How a child actually gets in

The home page points families to an Admissions section for nursery, primary, secondary, or a mid-year transfer. Book an appointment with Admissions. We will not invent a closing date the pages we read did not print. The tariff PDF is the document that bites: enrolment is a firm commitment, with cancellation rules dated 31 March, 1 April–31 May, and from 1 June.

Swiss Maturité 1re 26,700
Swiss Maturité Terminale 27,850
International Pre-IB 3rd 28,450
International Pre-IB 2nd 29,070
IB 1st and Terminale 30,100

Art/Sport middle-school lines are higher than the standard cycle (the PDF prints 23,250 and 24,450). Use the PDF for the exact year group.

A first-year IB Terminale is not “about 30,100.” It is registration + deposit + three quarterly bills + books + half-board if you eat there. Do the sum on the live English or French tariff.

What to ask on the stairs

Ask which of the three diplomas this child would actually start, and in which language. Ask what “bilingual” means in this année, hour by hour. Ask how a mid-year arrival is read against the March/June cancellation calendar if you might still be deciding. Walk Ecolint and CDL the same week. Petit-Lancy is not Versoix.

What we are not claiming

We are not ranking Florimont against Ecolint. We are not inventing a 2027–28 franc or an entrance-test date. Read the current tariff PDFs and the rentrée page before you treat Petit-Lancy as one building. This is a map. The school still has to be the right Tuesday.
